Accreditation of 740 delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), who will elect the party’s candidate for the Sept. 10 governorship election in Edo began on Monday in Benin.

It marked a remarkable escalation of the leadership crisis that had engulfed the PDP since it lost power last year.

All three PDP governorship aspirants screened to contest Monday’s primary have resolved to work for the success of whoever emerges the party’s flag bearer.
