LAGOS—NAVAL personnel at a three-day training on “Maritime Awareness and Operations”, weekend, called for an independent judicial probe, devoid of politicians, into the increasing oil theft in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea.

THE Nigerian Navy, NN, Sunday, killed 12 suspected pirates who allegedly hijacked an ocean-going vessel, MT Notre, carrying 17,000 metric tonne of petrol motor spirit, PMS, in the Gulf of Guinea, last Thursday.
