GOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Friday, fired his Special Assistant on Digital Media, Mr Muritala Olajide Adigun, with immediate effect over what was gathered as feeding the public with misleading information.

Ibadan—THE Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, in Oyo State, yesterday, urged Governor Seyi Makinde to lockdown the state, in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and to expedite action on the refurbishment of facilities that were converted to isolation centers.

As part of measures put in place by the Oyo State government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, the government, on Wednesday, directed civil and public servants in the employment of the state, local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to stay off work for two weeks.
