The Ikoyi Club 1938 has unveiled plans to make the 71st Anniversary of the Lagos elite club memorable.
According to the Chairman, Organising Committee, Folorunso Omosa, at a press conference heralding a two-week long programme of events, it would be kicked off with sectional tournaments to hold from October 14-28, 2009.

That the Eagles have performed below par all through the 2010 World Cup/Nations Cup qualifiers so far is an understatement. It is a fact that many Nigerians have suffered or continue to suffer heartaches each time the team line out to play either at home or away.

The Oluyole Warriors with a new management emerged from the lower division last season and were confident that they will take their pride of place in the elite division. The AIT Footballer of the Year Awards has in its own little way thrown up a lot of small and big issues concerning football and how it should be appreciated. Some of the issues were raised during the event last Sunday in Abuja and today Sunshine Stars FC top executive, Mike Idoko has added to the issues. He believes, the award for Team of the Year, should have gone to his former club Warri Wolves FC of Delta State.
