US President Donald Trump said on Monday that oil tankers are again exiting the Strait of Hormuz, following a peace deal, but uncertainty persisted over whether Iran will keep imposing tolls on ships in the vital waterway.

Oil prices dropped towards $80 a barrel and stocks rallied on Monday after Washington and Iran reached a deal to end the Middle East war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, sending a wave of relief through global markets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday he had proposed a meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin at the G7 in France, but that Moscow was “not ready” for it.

“We can’t lie about the backlash, and that is why part of the work that we are doing as government, as well through DECO, is engagement with businesses abroad, South African companies abroad.

“The area will be cleared of local residents, and all terrorist infrastructure, both above and below ground –including the houses in the frontline villages that served as terrorist outposts — will be destroyed.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday.
