Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday, said public servants across the ministries in the state must undergo training and re-training in order to compete favourably with their foreign counterparts in developed countries.

Addressing participants selected from the 28 ministries and parastatals in a two-day training programme in Ikeja tagged: Integrity contemporary business leadership into the corporate governance model of the Lagos State Civil Service, Ambode, who was represented by the Commissioner of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr. Akintola Benson Oke, said that the Lagos State government has embraced the challenge of modernising governance and innovatively approaching the task of public administration.
According to him: “The present administration in Lagos State is poised to examine those areas, processes and institutions and practices that need to be overhauled or remodelled in order to achieve this end.”
