Greece coach, Otto Rehhagel, was locked in argument with his Nigerian counterpart, Lars Lagerback over the red card given to Sani Kaita.

Kaita behaved primitively by  brushing his stud on the Greek player in an off the ball situation and was sent off – deservedly. But Lagerback said that the Greek play-acted.

Rehhagel shrugged off and said that Lagerback needs to look properly to know that his player acted in a silly way and deserved the red card. ‘’I do not think our player was in any way responsible. You cannot say that. The world saw it and it is only the Nigerian coach who thought otherwise”.

The coach said that he had put the Nigerian game behind him and is only wary about the encounter with Argentina’s Diego Maradona team. ‘’They are a world class team, an exceptional side,” Rehhagel said.

‘’It will be interesting to see how my team cope. I am just glad we have got a victory. It would have been a shame to have gone home without any points.’’
