2010 W/Cup: Ubani sends words from Jo’burg

•What SportsVanguard has for you

“Where did you bring    this man from?” Hector Igbikiowubo, our Energy Editor, continues to ask me each time Tony Ubani cracks his jokes. I laugh and simply say that “Tony would have probably ended up at the motor parks as a garage boy if he didn’t go to school.” Hector agrees but always insists on knowing where I fished him out from.

I will leave that for another day. Tony can make you develop pains while laughing over his humour. I know that many of you have had a bit of him from his column, Outraged. But that’s just a tip of the iceberg. Tony is already in South Africa for the biggest show in the world. He will serve you his flicks to entertain you, news stories to update you and serve you with human interest stories for your relaxation. Don’t miss Tony Ubani, our Sports Editor.

“This place is beautiful and expect beautiful stories from me. The beautiful stories are the bad ones, the funny ones and those that will make readers argue, fight, laugh and just wonder about the events. I’m here to serve our readers.” That’s vintage Tony. That’s Vanguard.

Patrick Omorodion will later join him and you can imagine the combination. Omorodion, the expert on sports politics and features will make your day, always.

Sylva Eleanya, our irrepressible photo journalist is also in the World Cup team. He will bring you pictures you can’t get anywhere else.

The veterans will thrill you too
When Paul Bassey writes, you find tonic in his style. His conversational style, humour and satire will simply capture you throughout the World Cup.

Don’t forget that Larry Izamoje, the CEO of Brilla FM will be juicy as usual on our weekend pages. Then the blunt and crisp Ikeddy Isiguzo will add his fire brand analysis to our pages and now you know why you just can’t miss Vanguard. Isiguzo is Chairman of our Editorial Board.

My humble self, will also be with you from time to time. We don’t need to blow our trumpet about having the best team for the World Cup coverage. You know it, so stay with us. – Onochie Anibeze, Group Sports Editor.
