Operatives of the State of State Services (SSS). also known as the Department of State Services(DSS) have arrested, Mr. Cornelius Ubara, the suspected abductor of 16-year old Miss Precious Osuji, who got missing from her home in Kapwa, a suburb of Lugbe in Abuja on November 13, 2015.

The suspect was until the sudden disappearance of Precious a tenant of her parents and lived with them in the same premises.
Sources said that he was arrested by the operatives through painstaking investigations and deployment of state-of-the-art technology.

Mr. Ubara was in possession of the handset of the abducted girl when he was arrested from a hideout in one of the states in the South West.
He had packed out of the premises of Mr. Alex Osuji, Precious’ father after he was arrested on suspicion that he could be behind the girl’s sudden disappearance from home.

The decision of the police to release him on bail, at the FCT Police Headquarters made Mr Osuji suspicious of a possible compromise in the case.
Mr. Osuji told vanguard that his suspicion became stronger when the police at the Command Headquarters became hostile to him and refused to issue him a police extract to enable him undertake a massive publicity on his missing daughter.

Reporting case to SSS
After two months without his daughter returning home and the tenant having packed out of his premises with the permission of the police, a frustrated Mr. Osuji wrote a petition to the SSS on January 19, 2016, in which he expressed his strong suspicion that Mr. Ubara could be his daughter’s abductor.
According to him, his daughter whom he left at home at about a 2.14 pm, while having her lunch on the fateful day disappeared in less than 20 minutes. She did not take anything, except her handset.

Meanwhile the tenant was the only one in the premises with the girl, when her father left home.
Based on the petition, the SSS swung into action. After a few weeks, Mr. Osuji was contacted by an SSS officer who brought a photograph to him for identification.

The photograph was that of Mr. Ubara. At that point, the officer told him that the SSS had tracked the phone of his daughter and had used their high technology security devices to track it to the man in the photograph.
Based on that, information, Mr. Osuji got a temporary relief.
However, before the suspect could be arrested, Vanguard learnt, he relocated out of Abuja. It took a while before the operatives tracked him and the phone to Lagos.

Suspect keeps mum.
It was learnt that the suspect was arrested with Precious’ handset and brought to Abuja, where he is currently being detained.
He was, however, said to have kept sealed lips on where Precious is being kept.

As learnt, at a point, he told the SSS operatives he was ready to take them to where the girl was being kept. However, he took them to the house of the man that stood as surety to bail him from the police detention at the FCT Police Command, when police arrested him last year.

At the house of the said surety, who was said to be the suspect’s spiritual leader, he (suspect) raised an alarm that Mr. Osuji, his former landlord, had organized hoodlums to kidnap him; that those who arrested him were not SSS operatives and refused to say anything more on the missing girl.
Security sources said that the suspect has refused to say how he came about Precious’ phone which was found on him at the point of arrest or where the girls is being held.
