Senator Magnus Abe’s campaign organisation in Rivers State has alleged the wanton destruction of Abe’s billboards and posters by those suspected to be agents and sympathizers of the state governor, ahead of the governor’s visit to Bori.

A statement by Parry Benson, Chairman, Media Committee and Spokesperson to Senator Abe, said: “This shows lack of tolerance of opponents, which is an ingredient of democracy.

“The campaign organization wishes to advise the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the contest is not necessarily on the bill board but winning the hearts, minds and support of the people, as rather than make Senator Abe unpopular, it is even popularizing him the more.

“However, the campaign organisation appeals to law enforcement agents to take necessary steps to contain this barbaric behaviour and ensure that the culprits are brought to book.”
