VICE-CHANCELLOR of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, (ESUT), Prof Cyprian Onyeji, yesterday, explained how he tactically adopted some measures that helped to stop improper dressing and cultism, noting that these two menacing issues rampant in some campuses in other universities have become a thing of the past in his school.

The VC, who stated at a press briefing to mark the 16th convocation of the school said that he had to put on his thinking cap to curb the incidents. ‘’For the past two years, there is no more cultism in this school. Both the teachers, the students can walk freely, there is no more insecurity.

“We also introduced dress codes, there are different dress codes for different departments which do not allow for indecent dressing. Also, at the entrance of the school you will find the caveat about it and it worked out.”

On the academic journey so far, the VC said “for the past 34 years of its existence, ESUT has distinguished itself as a pre-eminent university for scientific and technological studies.”
