WARRI—THE Chief Whip of Delta State House of Assembly, DTSHA, Mrs Omawumi Udoh, has informed the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, of her intention to seek re-election as the lawmaker representing Warri South 1 constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Udoh also told the monarch and his chiefs that it is important for her to be re-elected to sustain the gains she has recorded as a three-term legislator.
Briefing newsmen after the visit, Udoh said: ‘’It takes time to get things done. I feel there is a lot more yet to accomplish. This task is therefore not for unsteady or untested hands that would seek to learn on the job. We need an experienced, tried and tested hands. With so many new assembly members and a new governor in the making, it’s important for incumbent legislator like herself to return so her constituency doesn’t lose momentum on the progress so far made.
‘’I have a lot to show for my three term in the House. I have sponsored more than 10 Bills in the State House of Assembly. Prominent amongst the Bills are: Waste Management Bill, Ecology Bill, Delta State Sickle Cell Bill, Delta State Micro Finance Bill, and Estate Regulatory Authority Bill.’’
