The Visionary Business Leaders Awards (VBLA) has staged its maiden leadership and excellence awards in Port Harcourt, drawing influential Chief Executive Officers, CEOs, innovators, young professionals and development advocates from across West Africa.

Convener, Ambassador Emmanuel Ossai, said the initiative was designed to elevate and celebrate transformational leadership across the continent.

Held at the Golden Tulip (LA Kings), Stadium Road, the event featured a conference on contemporary leadership, youth empowerment engagements, high-level networking and an award dinner celebrating individuals driving growth across key sectors of the African economy.

With the theme “The CEO Mindset: Resilience, Strategy & Innovation,” the conference brought together leading academics, seasoned entrepreneurs and thought leaders who examined the evolving responsibilities of business executives in a rapidly changing economic landscape.

Ossai continued that the VBLA platform would continue to identify and honour business leaders who demonstrate resilience, creativity and impact.

He described the maiden edition as a significant step toward strengthening Africa’s leadership ecosystem and inspiring the next generation of change-makers.

In collaboration with the West Africa Youth Council, the ceremony also included a youth leadership induction session that recognised emerging industry players whose contributions continue to shape enterprise development and socioeconomic progress in the region.

The award segment highlighted achievements in entertainment, tourism, maritime services, content creation, enterprise development and corporate leadership, with honourees praised for their commitment to excellence, innovation and job creation.

The Visionary Business Leaders Awards is a continental recognition platform dedicated to celebrating CEOs, entrepreneurs and innovators contributing to Africa’s socio-economic advancement.
