C/River Assembly gets new Clerk

Calabar-Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State has appointed Mr. Bassey Ekpenyong as the new Clerk of the state House of Assembly.

Ekpenyong, who assumed duty on August 7, until his appointment was the Deputy Clerk of the House and succeeded Mr. Ntufam Okon, who has retired from the service.

The new Clerk, has, meanwhile, pledged to be an effective and result oriented public servant willing to offer service that would bring about positive change in the conduct of government business.

He was elevated to the position of Assistant Director, Administration in January 1995 and Deputy Director, Legislative Matters, January, 2000 and Deputy Clerk and Director, the same year, a position he held until his recent position.
