Ikeja Electric
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has completed the upgrade of its 132kV lines in Ikeja and has brought to an end the partial outage that occurred as a result.
IE had on the 11th of October announced plans to embark on an upgrade of its infrastucture, a reconductoring aimed at expanding the wheeling capacity across the IE network.
A statement obtained by Vanguard announcing the completion reads: “We are pleased to inform you that the project for the comprehensive infrastructure upgrade of 132kV lines in Ikeja has been successfully completed by the Transmission Company of Nigeria Plc (“TCN”). The implication of this is that the partial outage on the National Grid which commenced on the 11th of October has come to an end.
“We will like to extend our appreciation to you for your understanding and cooperation throughout the duration of this project and reaffirm our commitment to continue to deliver efficient services to you.
