There is an on going project being championed by Pince Adewale Laoye to revive the Yoruba talking drum culture among the youths in the South West.
Laoye said the talking drum is the vocalization and articulation of thoughts and philosophy of the Yoruba man through drumming messages are contextual and illustrative.

He regretted that the act of talking drum is steadily going into extinction and that this  must not be allowed.
“It is in line of this wish that our organization royal home of Africans talking drum has lined up a revival campaign through lectures/demonstration on Yoruba talking drums in some selected Secondary schools in Osun state.”
He said their targets are vibrant youths, who are yearning to know, learn and live the Yoruba culture. “As a starter, the pilot edition on the talking drum revival campaign took place at  Oba Laoye Grammar School, Ede, Osun state.”
