Nigeria’s former ambassador to Greece, Franklin Ogbuewu, Thursday emerged the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State ahead of this year’s general election.

Ogbuewu, who emerged victorious with a total of 1,852 votes cast, expressed satisfaction over the exercise and assured his supporters that APGA would clinch power without opposition from any other party.

He added that the youths in the state would receive prominent attention, if he was elected into government.

According to Ogbuewu, “the time of rigging is over; it has been said by the president and chairman of INEC that everyone’s vote will count.

“APGA believes that every vote will count in this forthcoming election. If everyone’s vote counts, we have no doubt that APGA will win the election.

“I want to assure the youths of Ebonyi state that they do not have any business staying in PDP, because PDP has no plan for the youths.

“They have deprived you of everything that makes you, that gives you hope as a youth; deprive you of education, deprive you of sporting activities; deprived you of your health; deprived you of employment. If you are deprived of all these as a youth, where is your tomorrow?

“All the projects that were abandoned by our predecessors, we shall complete all of them. We shall convert them to something that is convertible but we shall not abandoned them.

“We shall embark on infrastructural development based on necessity and I want to assure you that your life will change with the APGA government,” he asserted

Meanwhile, other candidates emerged for the House Assembly, House of Representatives and senatorial seats through consensus by the congress.

The National Officers who monitored the primary election include: Ogometu Ukpenetus, the National legal adviser, E. A. Shonubi, Deputy National Welfare Secretary, Joseph Tondo, National vice Chairman, and Alhaji Abdulahi Adamu, National vice Chairman.

In his views, the Chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Jerry Obasi said the time for change in the political history of the state has just started with the emergence of the APGA’s gubernatorial candidate.

He called on APGA members to remain committed in their support for the party, urging them to register in the forthcoming voters registration exercise.
