Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, reiterating his commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The Moroccan News Agency (MAP) reported on Thursday that King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory message to the Nigerian president to mark the occasion.
“In this message, the Sovereign extends to President Tinubu His warmest congratulations and well wishes for good health, happiness and success in leading the Nigerian people towards further progress and prosperity,” MAP reported.
The agency quoted the Moroccan monarch as expressing his desire to continue working with Tinubu to strengthen the friendship and fraternal ties between Morocco and Nigeria.
It said the king also expressed his commitment to advancing the interests of both countries and contributing to greater security, stability and prosperity in Africa.
The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations and expanded cooperation in areas including energy, agriculture and regional integration.
The partnership has also been supported by high-level engagements between Nigerian and Moroccan officials in recent years.
