Jos – A political group, the Renewed Hope Advocates for Tinubu 2027 has presented a gubernatorial nomination form fee valued at ₦50 million to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, in a show of support for his second-term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The symbolic gesture, received on behalf of the governor by his Deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo, formed the highlight of the group’s endorsement of both Governor Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu for another term in office.
The presentation coincided with the formal inauguration of the group’s national executive committee, signalling a coordinated push to mobilise support as political activities gather momentum.
The National Coordinator of the group, Mrs Beatrice Dakas, described the event as a defining moment, noting that it marked both the unveiling of the group’s leadership and a renewed commitment to its political objectives.
She expressed confidence in President Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang, citing their performance, vision and commitment to inclusive governance.
She said the endorsement was driven by a belief that the current leadership is steering the country towards stability and reform.
Plateau State Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, who represented the Governor at the event called on members to uphold discipline, discretion and a strong sense of service, while emphasising the need for greater inclusion of women in leadership and issue-based politics.
Former Plateau State Governor and Chairman of the occasion, Senator Simon Lalong, represented by Professor Danladi Atu, stressed the importance of unity, structure and grassroots mobilisation, noting that electoral success must be inclusive and far-reaching.
Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group, Umar Yakassai, represented by Solomon Shitnaan, commended the group’s initiative, describing it as a reflection of growing confidence in the administration’s reform agenda.
He also highlighted the group’s outreach to widows and persons living with disabilities as evidence of inclusive leadership.
His words, “Your bold endorsement of President Bola Tinubu reflects confidence in his visionary leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda which continues to inspire Nigerians towards unity and sustainable development.
“Equally commendable is your endorsement of Governor Caleb Mutfwang whose strides in peacebuilding, governance and inclusive development remain noteworthy.
“The DG particularly applaud your thoughtful initiative to empower widows and persons living with disabilities. This act of compassion and social responsibility exemplifies true leadership that prioritises the vulnerable and promote dignity and opportunity for all.”
He called on the newly inaugurated team to remain steadfast, innovative and people-centred in their engagement.
Also, Gyang Zi, SAN, praised the gesture of the group, saying it demonstrated commitment and solidarity.
“Today it is sealed that the President and the Governor are endorsed. We’re proud of what the duo are doing despite the challenges,” he said.
The event also featured a formal motion endorsing Tinubu and Mutfwang for a second term in 2027, moved by Dakas and seconded by Ajiji Ishaya.
As part of its social intervention efforts, the group empowered about 60 widows and persons living with disabilities.
The inauguration underscores the group’s intention to intensify mobilisation efforts in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
