Fast paced indigenous auto maker, Nord Automobiles, has entered the luxury car market segment with the Nord A9 luxury sports utility vehicles. The Nord A9 which was unveiled recently with Nord A3 sedan stunned the guests with its luxury features and beautiful design backed by a powerful quiet engine.
The unveiling ceremony attended by notable dignitaries from both the public and private sectors, held at the expansive Nord showroom in high profile Lekki area of Lagos, has become the talk of the town among auto enthusiasts.
From every indicators the A9 is the first locally made luxury car which can match established models from Germany, Japan, and Korea. But the Nord boss said that despite the luxuries of the A9, one does not need to break a bank to acquire one.
“We are giving Nigerian luxury SUV at the price of regular SUV as a way of appreciating their support to us over these years, the Nord CEO said.
In his presentation, the Chairman/CEO of Nord Automobiles, Mr. Oluwatobi Ajayi, assured that the two new models introduced by his company will meet the needs of different segments of the motoring public.
According to him, the company has witnessed tremendous growth with its range of models increased from mere five to 11 in just about four years period, and has decided to add a luxury SUV Nord A9.
He highlighted the reliability, distinct design language and lower cost of ownership of the Nord A3, even as he said the Nord A9 stands out in a class of its own, as a unique luxury SUV.
The A3 comes with a modern SQRE4T15C engine and a CVT displacement offering maximum power of 115Kw and maximum horsepower of 150Ps, as well as a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Its front suspension type is Independent MacPherson, while the rear suspension type is Multi-link rear suspension. It also comes with an electric power steering and a fuel tank capacity of 70 litres.
The Nord A9 on the other hand is a three row luxury SUV, that can easily go for a family car, boosting ample leg room in the interior and generous ground clearance with its 2,820 mm wheel base.
With a fantastic fuel efficient capacity of 8.2 litre/100km, the SUV comes with modern sound system and latest auto electronics and info mechanisms for the comfort of occupants. It also comes with a self-park option. Both models, just like other Nord models, come with five years warranty or 200,000 kilometres.
Speaking on the vehicle financing scheme, Executive Director of the Alternative Bank, Dr Jekwu Ozoemene, explained that the collaboration between the bank and Nord Automobile offers prospective customers the opportunity to own any model of Nord through easy payment scheme. He also went on to announce the purchase two units of the newly launched Nord A3.
The event also witnessed the presentation of prizes to the recent #CaptureNord Challenge. Prizes were presented by Mrs. Dora Ajayi, Managing Director of Dora Naturals Skincare & Spa; Mr. Lukman Adekola, Group Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Solutions at Alternative Bank; Miss Tolu Falaye, Head of Legal and Compliance at Nord; and Miss Shekinah Odunsi, Director of Operations at Nord.
