In 2016, the GIA graded it as the largest Internally Flawless Fancy Vivid Pink diamond in the world.

The Williamson Pink Star ring sold for a record-breaking $57.7 million at a Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong. The sale set a record for the highest per-carat price for any diamond or gemstone generally. This made it become the second most valuable jewel or gemstone ever sold at an auction. This ring features an 11.15-carat Cushion-cut flawless fancy vivid pink Type IIa diamond, making it one of the most expensive rings ever sold. The diamond was named in honor of two iconic pink diamonds: the Williamson Pink, given to Queen Elizabeth II, and the Pink Star, the most expensive diamond ever sold at auction.

Sold for $57.5 million at a Christie’s auction in Geneva, the Oppenheimer Blue Diamond Ring features a 14.62-carat fancy vivid blue Type IIb diamond. Purchased by Hong Kong billionaire Joseph Lau for $48.4 million, the diamond formerly Blue moon was named after his daughter, Josephine.
