….debunked purported rumor of stepping down

Barely 72 hours to the general election, The Young Progressive Party Senatorial candidate for Bayelsa West Senatorial District Tombra Jennifer Mohammed, nee Waritimi, is optimistic of winning the election as she also debunked the rumour of her to have stepped down from the race.

“My attention has been drawn to a purported and cheap publication going around that I am no longer in the race and that I have been paid off and I have stepped down. Let me warn those of you to immediately desist from such malicious rumor. Let me also make it very clear that all these are lies from lazy politicians who have refused to do what they should do or what they promised to do years that they have been in power. I am still standing tall, ready to move, ready to join hands with our people to create a conducive environment, and the productive psyche for the Bayesla West Senatorial District.

I advise my fellow contestants, go and sell yourselves, and let the people decide who becomes the nest senator representing our dearly beloved Bayelsa West. We need our creeks to be great again”. Tombra added.
Speaking further during the mega campaign rally, in Aleibiri Town, Ekeremor, Bayelsa State, Tombra Mohammed stated that the time has come for all the people of Sagbama and Ekeremor to come together and vote massively for her, just as she promised to initiate bills that will translate into concrete social and economic growth of the senatorial district when she gets ro the National Assembly.

She further reiterated that as an individual who believes in economic empowerment of the people, particularly the youths, she will use her wealth of experience over the years as an entrepreneur to initiate small and medium enterprises among the youths especially at the grassroot level, thereby making them self reliant.

The Aleibiri born politician stressed that the overall development of the senatorial district rests squarely on a sound and good representation of the district at the National Assembly, adding that she possesses the requisite knowledge that will transform the district.

She noted that she interacted with the people of Sagbama and Ikeremor constantly, particularly at the grassroot which gave her adequate knowledge of the peculiar needs of the people, promising to give quality qualitative representation when she eventually occupies the Senatorial Seat.

The YPP Senatorial candidate emphasised that the rotation of the seat between the two Local Government Area that has been in existence over the years should not be allowed to be scuttled by some politicians, urging the people to strongly resist any attempt to disorganise the already existing gentleman agreement.

Our correspondent report that the campaign witnessed a massive presence of people from all works of life including the paramount ruler of Aleibiri, various groups of youths and women who promised to vote for her.
