Election : THE National Youth Corps members attached to Ward 8 unit 4 collation centre in Methodist primary school Owo, Ondo state Saturday protested that they were short changed by INEC in the payment of their training allowances.

As at 830am the corps members stayed put at the collation centre and refused to take the electoral materials to the 22 units in the town.

According to the Corps member instead of paying them N8000, they were given N4000.

They equally complained that INEC provided only one vehicle to transport them and the materials to the 22 centres.

Vanguard gathered that the intervention of some government officials saved the situation as the corps members at about 9am decided to travel to the units.

Reports had it that the electoral officers failed to show up at Emure-ile /Uso ward 11 as at 930am yesterday.

Same situations took place in other centres across the state.

Voters waited for hours for the electoral officers to show up.

However the voting exercise took off to time in Akure, the state capital and other neighbouring towns.

Reports had it that the exercise was peaceful and devoid of violence as at the time of filling in this report.

THE presidential and National Assembly elections took off yesterday across Ondo state.

While the exercise started as early as 8am in many voting centres
