Glory be to God. We are alive to witness the beginning of another week. For a few minutes, reflect on events of the last week and you will find that you still have cause to thank God. This is the simple reason the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 34 vs. I “ I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”.
Apart from singing in the church do you ever praise the Lord with songs? If you don’t, then begin today to do so. It’s a sure way of getting the attention of the Almighty God.
I once lived in a block of flats with other tenants and the only way they would know I was at home was hearing me sing. Even in the office while on the staircase, I sang. This was a regular habit with me even as a woman waiting on the Lord at that time for about 20 years. I recall that a colleague once said I made the office an extension of my church. I simply ignored him and continued with my singing habit.
Eventually, when the baby came, that person was one of those who congratulated me.
The point I am making is that even for something as simple as singing, there are people who would wonder why you should become a musical instrument with your challenge.
Make up your mind to acknowledge the power of God in whatever way and avoid distractions.
I have decided to use myself as an example so that someone’s faith would be lifted.
Brethren, you must be lifted above that challenge.
At this time of the year, it is normal for us to reflect and note what God has not yet done while downplaying what he has done.
For instance a single lady begins to say to herself, that she has been praying and no marriage partner has showed up. Therefore, she concludes that all she wants is a baby. If she wants to adopt it’s okay but to just look for any man to impregnate her is wrong. Such a thought is unrighteous. The earlier she perishes such thought the better for her.
Or are you a married woman waiting on the Lord for children and you are being advised by relations and ‘friends’ to have an affair with another man.
Sister, be warned. Never yield to such advice. It is satanic. It will certainly lead to regrets that could ruin your whole life.
For a man out there, who has lost a job, you are wondering if you will ever bounce back financially.
Or are you indebted and looking for the usual short cut out of indebtedness? Are your ungodly friends calling on you to come consult an herbalist that can make you rich.
Brother, be warned. The devil does not give freely. There is a price to pay for such action and it costs you your life.
Brethren, what is the challenge that has been with you since the beginning of this year?
Luke 1 vs. 37 remains relevant. “For with God nothing shall be impossible”.
This Bible passage was written before you were born and it has not changed.
For a couple out there waiting on the Lord, for the fruits of the womb, don’t be depressed. Rather, pray and praise the Lord. God will surely answer.
When dealing with God, there is no short cut. You cannot be an unbeliever and expect God to shower you with his blessings.
How do I know? My reference is Psalm 69 vs. 29-31: “But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs”.
Continue reading up to verse 36 but for the purpose of this article, we’ll consider verses 34-36 “ Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein. For God will save Zion ( you) and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein”.
Note that the Psalmist recommended praise and thanksgiving. When we give thanks for what we are yet to receive, it is a great demonstration of faith and such a person must get the attention of the Almighty God.
He also mentioned seed and inheritance. This refers to children. It is children that inherit from their parents. Cast out fear, cast out doubt, trust God.
You that is being called barren today, will soon be saying, God, I have had enough children. This is your portion in Jesus name.
Isaiah 8 vs. 18 gives us assurance. “ Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion “.
When the Lord answers you with multiple babies, you certainly will be a wonder. When he answers you even with a baby after people have written you off, certainly, you will be a wonder.
For those whose challenge is finance related, simply intensify prayer and praise singing. You will be amazed how God will lift you up.
Brethren, it is easier to have money than to have children. If the Lord can fill homes of couples who trusted him with children, why do you think he cannot promote you financially or remove that health challenge?
God can lift you above every challenge provided you meet his requirements. Provided you live your life according to his word, worship him and serve him.
Also, your commitment must be total.
Brethren, sitting back home and grumbling can never give you victory over any challenge. Neither will keeping the companies of unbelievers wipe out that challenge. Your decision to spend your time drinking alcohol as a way of unbundling your mind, is no solution to the challenge. Rather, what you see as a short cut to putting the challenge behind you is actually, the short cut to health challenges that could shorten your life.
However, do not be deceived. Waiting on the Lord isn’t easy but the end of story is always sweet.
You must be familiar with the travails of the children of Israel in Egypt. They went through a lot but God kept his promise and they got to the land flowing with milk and honey.
By the grace of the Almighty God, that challenge you have been coping with will soon become history.
God will replace sorrow with unspeakable joy in your life before the year ends in Jesus name.
Testimony- I’ll share with you a testimony of lady at Harken Unto Me O Lord (HUMOL), an RCCG programmed at Magodo, Lagos. This lady had been waiting on the Lord for children for sometime.
Here is her story: “I was told I had fibroid and the doctor said it was a 50/50 chance of getting pregnant and gave me an option of IVF. I held on to the promises of God and I became pregnant at 37 years. The pregnancy journey was smooth but for the fibroid. I was told it normally shrinks during pregnancy but it became multiple but my God was still faithful. As the doctors were working on delivery, one of the doctors said he wondered how the baby was able to survive with the fibroids, that they would have crushed him”.
God proved himself. The baby was born healthy and the mother too remains healthy. Do you still have doubt that God’s miracle is still possible in your life?
By the grace of God, for whatever reason you have been written off by friends and relations, the Lord will use you to cause a celebration in the name of Jesus.
Please make sure you sing at least a song to God everyday.
A reputable man of God said, when praises go up, blessings come down.
Yours will flow from heaven this season in Jesus name..
