ABEOKUTA—THE Ogun State Police Command in collaboration with members of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, in the state said it has launched a manhunt for the killers of a traditional ruler, Oba Patrick Fasinu, the Olowo of Owo in Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the command was making progress in the search for the killers of the monarch who was killed and also set ablaze.
The late Oba Fasinu was assassinated last Wednesday by unknown gunmen while he was returning from Yewa Traditional Council meeting held in Ilaro.
It was learnt that his assassination took place along Ijako-Isagbo road in Oke-Odan, Yewa South Local Government, The gunmen also set his corpse ablaze and went away with his phone.
Addressing newsmen at a security town hall meeting organised by PCRC Abeokuta Metro, Oyeyemi said the command has resolved to collaborate with PCRC and other stakeholders in the state to fight crimes and criminality.
The PCRC Chairman in the state, Ibrahim Olaniyan while speaking on the killing of the Oba described it as unfortunate, saying PCRC members in the area have commenced search to get the perpetrators of the act.
