By Benjamin Njoku
Queen of Nigerian gospel music, Princess Ann Inyang took a trip down memory lane last Sunday, revealing how she encountered Jesus Christ while she was performing at a night club, in Lagos.
The “ Akanagkwe” singer said she started performing at night clubs at the age of 10. Then she used to perform at late Bobby Benson’s night club on Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
According to her, the legendary musician was the one that discovered her talent in music.
Narrating how she encountered Jesus Christ, Anne Inyang, who released her first album in 1996, titled “All the way with Jesus” said she was performing on one of the nights at the club, when suddenly the saviour of mankind appeared to her, and she had to stop the show and embraced Him. She said she started singing professionally at the age of 15.
Anne Inyang shared this powerful testimony, while she was ministering last Sunday, as a guest artiste at one of the new generation churches at Satellite Town, Word and Spirit Assembly. The gifted singer was on her way to the United States, before she decided to stop over and bless the congregation with her inspirational songs.
Welcoming her to the church, the presiding pastor, Dr. Chris Eke described Anne as “a powerful gospel singer”, adding that he was overwhelmed by her ministration.
A United Nation ambassador of peace, Princess Anne Inyang has nine albums to her credit, which are available on iTunes, Spotify and several online music stores. Some of her popular songs were “ A Lord God Cannot Lie”, “Awesome God Floodgates”, “Yesu Uni wangu”, “Power In the word of God”, “Love is the Greatest Gift”, “All the Way with Jesus”, “Highly Favoure” and “ Nyafun Nyafun.” But “Akanagkwe” brought her into the limelight.
