Minna—Chairman, Niger State Council of Chiefs and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, yesterday, urged electricity distribution companies, DISCOs, across the country to end outrageous billings and provide stable power to customers.

The Etsu Nupe, who spoke when a delegation of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, paid him a courtesy visit at his Wadata Palace, Bida, noted that the issue of the “crazy” bills had caused more conflicts rather than improve the economic base of the various companies.
He said: “My advice to you is to meter all houses enjoying your services to stop this issue of crazy bills as this will stop overbilling and invariably increase your services. This will encourage your customers to pay willingly.”
The Etsu Nupe assured the delegation of the willingness of people of his domain to pay for the services rendered, but added that they must first be given adequate power supply to encourage them to pay.
