22 ex-militants acquire carpentry, upholstery skill in Sapele

SAPELE—THE Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, recorded another boost in the Niger Delta as 22 ex militants completed their training in carpentry and upholstery designs at Sapele, headquarters of Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, coordinator of PAP, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (retd.), commended the ex militants for embracing peace, urging them to shun temptations to go back to militancy.

Boroh, who was represented by Mr. Lawrence Akpate, charged the youths to make good use of their new skill.

One of the graduands, Mr. Mike Gomero, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said: “We have quit militancy and will never go back to it again. We want the federal government to extend the time frame of the training as nine months is too short for an average ex-militant to be fully abreast with the training.”
