IN order to cope with the growing number of customers trooping in to the Redemption Camp on a daily basis, the few banks operating within the camp are overwhelmed by people either withdrawing or depositing funds.
Several of them had resorted to closing at 8.00 p.m. and some times their services drag on till as late as 9.00 p.m. even as there are very long queues for their ATMs.
A female worker in one of the banks told our reporter, yesterday, that they do not live in the camp but are being forced to stay because of the convention.
According to her, no provision was made for their accommodation but they were pretty lucky to find a resident who had agreed to give them his apartment in the camp because he would not attend the convention.
“We had make do with the bare floor and that is what we will do for the duration of the convention before we will return to our respective families in Lagos,” she said, noting that it had been like that at every major programme of the church.
