BENIN—A member of House of Representatives and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Mr Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, has admonished the leadership of the party in the state to pick a governorship candidate that has been consistent in the party since 1999 in order not to endanger its chances in the forthcoming governorship election.

Agbonayinma, who represents Ikpoba Okhai/Egor federal constituency of Edo State, was reacting to his recent endorsement of Mr Matthew Iduoriykemwen as his preferred governorship candidate of the PDP.

He noted that it was the only way the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state could be checked.

He said: “The PDP must avoid a candidate that will be a liability to the party because some aspirants of the party today have crossed from PDP to ACN and APC and on to PDP, while some moved from ANPP to ACN and back to PDP. These are not consistent candidates and picking people like that is dangerous to the party because you never can know their next move tomorrow.”
