Nigerians have been urged to use Christmas festival to pray for a revival of Nigeria’s socio-economic fortunes for the health of the nation.
In his Christmas message contained in a press statement, former Senator Gbenga Aluko, who represented Ekiti South Senatorial District between 1999 and 2003 in the Senate, said it is through the renewal of spirit and behavioural rebirth that Nigeria can chart a new course towards economic rebirth that will have beneficial effects on all Nigerians.
He said: “Christmas is the period of the birth of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind. Let us use the spirit of the season to pray for the rebirth of Nigeria for national salvation.”
Congratulating Christians and non-christians for witnessing another yuletide season this year, the former senator and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper in the spirit of Christmas.
Aluko also urged Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari to succeed in his economic renewal programme to save the nation from collapse.
