Senator Magnus Abe has congratulated former Rivers State governor, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation.
Describing the appointment as well deserved, Abe recalled that while in office, the former governor had repeatedly decried the lack of attention given to the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa under the previous federal administration, pointing out that with Amaechi on the saddle, the airport was bound to have a facelift.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his choice of Amaechi as minister from Rivers State.
Abe, in a statement by his spokesman, Parry Benson, said there was no doubt that Amaechi will deliver in his new assignment by transforming the sea ports across the country, especially the Port Harcourt ports which are currently in a pitiable state, to become a beehive of activities in the eastern part of the country.
