AS Nigerians mourn  the death of Felix Okugbe who before his demise was the president of the Archery federation, president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Engr Habu Gumel has said he was ‘’heartbroken’’after learning the news.

President Gumel described Okugbe ‘’as a man who devoted his life to sports, making people happy and making Team Nigeria work better’’. He also added that Okugbe had ‘’a brilliant mind, a big heart and an insatiable appetite to give back, I’m indeed saddened by the loss of such a hardworking man’’

The news of the death of the Archery federation president has also left the NOC secretariat at the national stadium like a grave yard.

NOC scribe, Hon Tunde Popoola was too shocked that he repeatedly asked  why, why, why? Popoola could not hold back his tears for Okugbe who toiled to ensure that Nigeria becomes a member of the world Archery as a means of putting Team Nigeria in front during international competitions

Okugbe died last week at the Lagos state university teaching hospital after a spine infection surgery complications.

Meanwhile, the family of the Okugbes have announced October 22nd to October 23rd for the burial of the journalist in his compound in Lagos.
