Lagos State male and female teams to this year’s cleared the stakes in the finals of the South West Zone held at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos. In the finals of the male category, Team Lagos played team Osun in a very captivating encounter which ended 1-1 regulation time. Lagos boys eventually won in the penalties by 5 goals to 3.

The story was different in the finals of the female category. The girls from Lagos State clinched the ticket to the finals after defeating Oyo State by 2 goals to nil. The goals were scored by Angela Mosindi and Innocent Ayomide.
Boys from Oyo State played against their Ekiti counterpart in third place encounter which was action-packed and full of great goals from the boots of Oyo State boys who won by 6 goal to nil. Four of the goals scored by the fleet-footed striker of the Oyo squad, Oyebode Hassan.
The third place match in the girls category was played on Saturday between Team Ondo and Team Osun. The match had ended 2-2 regulation time. Team Osun won in the penalties by 7 goals to 6.
Ex-Super Eagles International and ARS Technical Adviser, Mutiu Adepoju and top executives from leading telecoms operator, Airtel Nigeria, including the Zonal Business Manager, Akin Adebisi, Regional Operations Director, Lagos, Oladokun Oye and Regional Human Resources Manager, Lagos, Abimbola Shopeju were present at the finals of the Lagos Regional Championship.
