South Africa Football Association officials are not fooled by the crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation, they are propping up the Bafana Bafana for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles next Wednesday in Cape Town.
There are fears that FIFA might come down hard on Nigeria, following a divided NFF and the Super Eagles opponents are wishing that this happens and this will get the African champions out of the way. But according to SAFA spokesman Dominic Chimhavi, the Bafana Bafana will train hard for the Eagles who have never lost a competitive match to South African counterparts.
“We are going full steam ahead with our preparations for both qualifiers. As you have heard the coach we have selected players that will feature in both qualification fixtures. We are keeping close tabs and monitoring the situation within the Nigerian FA, however until we hear anything different from CAF, for us it’s all systems go,”said Chimhavi.
