The former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Nigeria’s Ambassador-at-Large, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, has called for effective international cooperation and mutual understanding between the leading political parties in Africa and the world.

He said that this relationship has become necessary now, in order to ensure the execution and implementation of party programmes and manifestos of the leading parties to the economic advantage of all citizens of different countries of the world.
He made the call when he received the Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Tagelsir Ali in his office at Abuja today.

Dr. Tukur remarked that the political ideologies and manifesto of leading political parties in Africa and the world have identical features that will help to foster peace and unity in Africa and the world.
Ambassador Tukur made it clear that leading parties in the world have great role to play in combating terrorism which has now become a global menace threatening the peace and unity of the entire universe.
He stressed the need for African countries to place premium on building institutions that will prosper for continuity and development of the African Continent.
