Lagos— A 23-year-old man, Olaide Dauda, was yesterday remanded in prison custody by a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja, pending the legal advice from the office of the public prosecution, over alleged robbery.

The defendant and others at large are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and being in possession of a locally made gun.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Chinalu Uwadione, said that the defendant, with others at large, committed the alleged offence on September 9 at Agric Bus Stop in Ojo area of Lagos.

He said that the defendant, while armed with a gun and other dangerous weapons, robbed one Garuba Gbadamosi of N2,000, driving licence and also dispossessing one Musa Morufu of a Nokia phone valued at N13,000 and one Wahab Rabiu of N200,000.

The victims, who were travelling in a commercial vehicle, were allegedly robbed by the suspect who used motorcycle (Okada) to block them.

The defendant’s plea was not taken as Magistrate O. Akinde ordered that he be remanded in prison custody.
