The leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, Friday reaffirmed the suspension of Anambra State Coordinator of the movement, Chief Vernatius Muoneke and 13 other MASSOB chieftains.
Uwazuruike who spoke through his Personal Assistant and MASSOB’s Deputy National Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, at Umunnachi in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, after their meeting, recalled that Muoneke’s suspension was based on the 2006 crisis which he was reportedly the mastermind. The said crises resulted in the loss of lives and property of the residents of Onitsha and its environs.
On the frosty relationship between Uwazuruike and Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, he said: “Rommy fell out with MASSOB on October 15, 2011 because as Chairman of preparatory Committee for the burial of Biafran soldiers who died during the Nigeria/Biafra Civil War, Uwazuruike did not allow Ezeonwuka to reach out to about 50 prominent Igbo leaders and ask them to donate money to enable him give the wandering spirits of the dead heroes a resting place.
