Delta State governor,  Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has been called upon to extend democracy dividends to Aniocha South Local Government Area.

In a letter to the governor under the aegis of Aniocha South Development Union (ASDU), Lagos Branch, the people said the area lacked good roads, electricity, cottage industries, potable water among other social amenities.

A statement by Chief John Nwafor and Barrister Ilom Chukwuji, ASDU president and general secretary, respectively, the union said that since the inception of this democratic dispensation, the people of the area had so far been neglected by the government.

“However, our approach here is not to apportion blames but to appeal to Your Excellency, especially now that all the political distractions in terms of election litigations have been put behind, we urge you to see how our people can benefit from your government in terms of social amenities and other dividends of democracy”, it said.

The Union implored the governor to direct relevant government agencies in the state to extend development to Aniocha South communities.

These communities it said include Abah-Unor, Adonte, Ashama, Egbudu-Aka, Ejeme-Aniogor, Ejeme-Unor, Ewulu and Isheagu. Others are Nsukwa, Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-Okiti, Ububu-Uku, Ubulu Unor, Ukwu-Obah, and Umute.
