MTN Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to the growth of education in Nigeria. The company’s Corporate Services Executive, Mr. Akinwale Goodluck stated this at the MTN 21 Days of y’ello Care” held in Lagos.

According to him, MTN’s overall Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR strategy is guided by a commitment to adding value in the Nigerian education sector, which will ultimately contribute to socio-economic development of country. 21 days of y’ello Care is an MTN Group staff volunteerism initiative, observed annually in the month of June across all MTN operating units.

It provides a platform for MTN staff to further demonstrate MTN’s leadership in CSR, by collectively taking part in social investment projects in our various communities of operation. It also gives them the opportunity to reach out to communities and take the MTN branded care to the people.

The theme for this year’s 21 Days of y’ello Care is: “Investing in Education for All”.

Speaking further, Mr. Goodluck said while, education is viewed as a key to Africa’s and indeed Nigeria’s development agenda, this year’s programme focuses on improving educational standards, providing an enabling environment for learning and promoting gender equality in education by investing in the education of the girl child.
