Tata launches mass transit solution

Determined to provide quality mass transit vehicles to Nigerians, Tata Africa Services Nigeria Limited, sole distributors of Tata brand of vehicles in Nigeria has unveiled seven new models in Nigeria.

The new models which were presented to a select transport stakeholders recently at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac Town include, seven Seater Tata Magic, 20 Seater Tata LP 407,  38 Seater Tata 913, 60 Seater Tata LPO1618, and Tata 613 which comes in two variables:  26 Seater and 33 Seater respectively.

Speaking during the presentation, the Executive Director Tata West Africa services, Mr. Sudeep Rey said the new range of products is the company’s response for demand for mass transit vehicles built to meet the people’s day_to_day movements. It is a total mass transit solution, he said.

“Tata buses are a hallmark of excellence and have been designed with utmost quality standards in mind and low cost maintenance for effective transportation solution. These represent the synergy between intricate craftsmanship and mass production, a variety of premium buses that cater to the entire gamut of utility vehicles and applications, from luxurious inter-city travel options to safe transport choices for school going children and travellers who seek optimum luxury during their journey” he said.

According to Mr. Rey, with an investment of over $10 million in Nigeria, Tata West Africa is poised for big business to providing vehicles that guarantee safe, pleasant and comfortable journey.

He said that the vehicles are specially tropicalised for Nigerian environment even as he expressed optimism that the products would help the various state governments’ achieve hassle free mass transit schemes.

“Tata Marcopolo LP613 bus can be used as a public transport or municipal transport for cities, towns and within suburbs” he noted.

Rey said solid after sales service is in place to support the new models to ensure that the vehicles are always kept on the roads without problems at all.

Established in Nigeria in 2006, Tata West Africa Services Nigeria Limited also offers automobile products in the segments of passenger vehicles, light Commercial vehicles, medium commercial vehicles, and heavy duty vehicles.

Since its inception, the company has been known for its strong infrastructure base, excellent marketing capabilities, knowledge of the local market needs having the most affordable vehicles in the country.

The general manager said Tata Africa has set up a state-of-the-art 3s including sales, service and spare parts facility in Lagos and Port Harcourt adding that dealers have been appointed in Kano, Abuja, and other places across the country.
