Odah, NLC scribe sacked

ABUJA— GENERAL Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade John Odah, and Comrade Onah Iduh, who acted as head of information before he was recently redeployed to research, have been relieved of their duties in what congress sources claimed was part of re-organisation of the NLC secretariat.

Although NLC President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar, Wednesday  declined comments when asked over the fate of the NLC General Secretary who, until this development, was asked to proceed on his accumulated leave, Vanguard gathered that a committee had been set up to reorganise the secretariat for better performance.

One of the members of the National Executive Council, NEC, who attended yesterday’s NEC meeting, confirmed to Vanguard that the duo had been relieved of their duties.

According to him, the NLC secretariat needs to be restructured to meet the yearning of Nigerian workers and masses. Her added that the former general secretary would be paid his full benefits.
