The late former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Abel Guobadia was Friday buried at h is No 4 Aimure Avenue residence, Benin, with President Goodluck Jonathan describing him as a man of excellent quality.
President Jonathan who was represented by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Humphrey Abbah said the late Dr. Abel Guobadia lived a fulfill life and survived all odds despite challenges to achieve everything in life.
“He lived an exemplary life. He came from a humble background and achieved all that was needed to achieve. He kept his integrity till death. Let us imbibed those qualities he possessed”, the President.
A funeral service preceding the interment was held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and was well attended by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), National Universities Commission (NUC) led by the Executive Secreatary, Prof. Julius Okojie, Edo state Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu who represented Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
In his homily, Venerable Christopher Umane stressed the need for people be prepared always for the eternal journey as it was inevitable for man.
Besides, the Cleric called on Nigerians to live worthy lives as it was the way with the Lord to avoid misery and lamentations at the end even as he urged them to flee from sinful acts.
