Asaba-based amateur golfer Wing Commander Peter Iweze was full of smiles penultimate week when he picked one of the tickets to represent Nigeria at the Ryder Cup taking place in Wales come next month.

Iweze qualified in a tournament played in Asaba organised by a private outfit. Iweze and three others will next month embark on an all-expense paid trip to Walea and London where they are expected to also watch a Premier League game.

An elated Iweze revealed to The Golf Course that he never expected to pick one of the tickets but only tried to enjoy himself and ended up winning the Asaba leg of the tournament.

According to him, Ikeja had earlier produced a winner, the tourney will now come up in Calabar and Kaduna, which is also expected to produce one winner each.
