AS Nigeria’s golden jubilee anniversary celebrations draw nearer, Pay TV Company, HiTV, has announced a slash in the prices of acquiring its decoder systems.
This was just at the heels of also slashing its subsciption rates a forthnight ago.
HiTV says these price reductions were in the spirit of Independence , adding that it was a fresh reason for both its existing subscribers and other proudly Nigerians to migrate to the platform .
The offer tagged Golden Offer, reduces a complete system of HiTV plus two months subscription with free installation to just about N15, 000.
It began on September 1 and is expected to run through Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 1.
HiTV Brand/Marketing Manager, Mrs. Kemi Fashina, in a statement, said the Golden Offer was to ensure that Nigerians enjoy premium content at more affordable prices.
The statement signed by the company’s Public Relations Manager, Mr Justin Akpovi-Esade quoted Fashina as saying that ““we always ensure we give back to Nigerians at Independence.
Last year, we did the Freedom Promo at Independence which was a huge success, so our offering this time around is Golden Offer which is apt because Nigeria turns 50 in a couple of weeks from now. We do all these because we are a Nigerian company that has the interest of Nigerians at heart in all our dealings.”
She believes that with these price slashes, “Pay TV has just become more affordable”.
What this means is that with just N15, 000, viewers will have the opportunity of viewing sports content such as the UEFA Champions League, Carling Cup, Europa Cup and of course Italian Serie A, which are on the HiTV platform.
Besides, Fashina said that “ HiTV has an array of channels that it continues to acquire (31 channels now and still counting) that cater for all categories of viewers.
We are bringing in 10 more new channels in a couple of weeks. For kids, there is Hi Kids, Kids Co and Nickelodeon; for movies, we have Hi Movies, Hi Mix, etc, for news (both foreign and local) there is BBC, Sky News, and Al Jazeera and Hi News, Amuludun, Biscon, TVC etc take care of local programming and for entertainment.
She noted that for viewers of religious programmes, God TV, Dove Vision and others were there to take care of their needs.
“HiTV just launched a new music channel, One Music; Now, there is a new reason to stay hooked to HiTV and people have stayed hooked to HiTV all seasons.”
HiTV recently slashed its Premium Bouquet from N6, 000 to N3, 500 while still retaining its Correct Bouquet at N1, 900. For Fashina “Golden Offer promotion is to complement our recent reduction in our monthly subscription. It is noteworthy that HiTV is a true Nigerian Pay TV Company that has broken the myth that Pay TV is an exclusive preserve of the rich in Nigeria, so all what we are doing in the area of making sure that Nigerians enjoy world class entertainment at an affordable price is in line with our set objective from inception,”
