THE Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha, has commended its contractors, stressing that they have shown that they have the capacity to deliver to specification.
He spoke after a two-day inspection tour of NDDC’s projects in Akwa Ibom State.
According to Ugwoha, who identified investment in human capacity development of Niger Delta youths as the permanent solution to restiveness in the area, the contractors aside delivering on quality had also worked at a commendable speed.
On the Ikot Ukap-Ndiya road and bridge projects, which he said would ease the movement of people and goods in the area, the NDDC boss rated the performance of the contractor above average, considering the volume of work already done within the short time it mobilised to site.
The 28-kilometre Ikot Ukap-Ndiya internal road project was awarded to Osmoserve for N2.8 billion. It comprises a 3x20m span bridge, double-lane single carriageway, 12-kilometre line drains, among others.
