Colourful reception for Eagles

Eagles players and their officials, including Sani Lulu, the federation president, were yesterday wondering how to pay back the Richard Bay community for the reception given to Nigeria in South Africa.

EAGLES HAVE LANDED ••• Members of the Super Eagles disembark from their aircraft in South Africa, yesterday.

The reception appeared more than what other teams experienced on their arrival.Children and adults lined the streets flying Nigerian flags to welcome the Eagles.

A grand reception was going on at the time of this report. “It’s emotional, very touching,” Idah Peterside, spokesman of the Eagles said while the reception was on.

“Everybody has been buoyed up by the Richard Bay community. The feeling is like, what do we do for them? The players concluded that the only good thing to compensate them with is to play well and get results.
That they have vowed to do.”
