Hearing on Ezza-Ezillo relocation for June 8

Ebonyi — An Ebonyi State High Court sitting in Abakaliki has adjourned till June 8, hearing on a motion by Ezza-Ezillo community in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state, seeking to restrain Governor Martin Elechi from going ahead with his plan to relocate them to another part of the state due to the violent communal crisis that had bedeviled that council for the past three years.

Four members of the community led by one Chief Paul Ogbule, are praying the court to restrain the Governor by himself, his Commissioners, assistants, officers, agents, representatives or successor from relocating or moving them out of their present abodes to any other place, pending the hearing and determination of the suit.

Ezza people through their counsel,  Mr. Arthur Okafor, SAN, are challenging the locus of the Governor to sack them  from their ancestral homes and land.
