MASSOB flays Uwazuruike’s detention

By Chidi Nkwopara

OWERRI—Officers of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, have condemned the abduction of  Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, founder of the organisation by security personnel from Owerri to Kuje Prison, Abuja, describing it as “an act of cowardice.”

MASSOB made its feelings known in a statement by the organisation’s National Director of Information, Mr Uchenna Madu, in Owerri.

“We see his arrest as a direct honour and recognition by the Federal Government of Nigeria that MASSOB has become a major factor to be reckoned with,” Madu said.

According to Madu, “Uwazuruike’s current ordeal in Kuje Prison, Abuja is another source of inspiration, courage, motivation, consistency, honour and total commitment to millions of MASSOB members.”

The group equally warned that it will roundly disown any person or group of persons using MASSOB or Biafran identity on the day of the governorship election in Anambra State, slated for this Saturday.
