NFF provides extra security for Eagles

Nigeria Football federation has arranged for extra security for Eagles players following last week Friday attack on the Togolese team at the Angola 2010.

The news of the attack on Togo hit the Eagles as they landed at the Luanda airport on Friday, but they were immediately assured of their safety by NFF officials who have been on ground.

“We were a bit worried. But the NFF assured us that we are safe here and that they have arranged to give us extra security. We just pray that nothing like this happens again. It is sad that people had to die like this,” said Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu

Kanu expressed his sympathy to Togo over the attack carried out by Angola rebels. It left three people dead.
“We were shocked to hear about what happened to the Togolese,” he said. “I tried to call Adebayor but I couldn’t reach him.”
